| Man, striving forever, towards god-head, hopefully ascending to some eternal star, leaving, untended, the dust of dreams and flesh in habitations. Constructions piled upon constructions, becoming, in the end, dirt mounds on barren plains, or stones swallowed by jungles. Caves, barrows, tells, cairns, pyramids and monuments. Hadar, Ur, La Tene, Maeshow, Jerico, Qumran, Ninivah, Anau, Thebes, Tannur, Mohenja-daro, Uxmal, Copan, Tikal, and now, macro populations in skyscrapers, urban sprawl... all with graveyards. The eyes, at night, attempt to count the stars. |
